Monochromatic design part 2
Yesterday was the basic explanation of what a monochromatic colour scheme is, a one color color scheme
I recommend this colour scheme for people that do not have a lot of experience in interior design or with colour arrangements. It is very simple to achieve a beautiful space without the stress of making a lot of colour decisions.
The most popular monochromatic colours are probably the browns and the beiges. They are very easy to use, they look timeless and are very interesting without the visual overload.
The key to a successful monochromatic interior is the tones and the tints. If you do not have a lot of experience I suggest applying the darker colours to the lower area like the flooring and the lighter colors on the ceiling. The textures in the space below add a lot of interest but is not overwhelming on the eye. The designer used a textured carpeting and furniture in the living room, a neutral colour on the wall, then a lighter colour on the ceiling. This color scheme is applied everywhere from the staircase to the accessories.
A well done monochromatic scheme can be as soft and subtle as you please or the complete opposite, it can be bold and dynamic, don't forget to add whites, blacks and texture to create interest in the space.
